THE NATIONAL FLAG.

 The is national flag of sri Lanka.It had a red background. There are two stripes on the letfhand side.the first one is green in colour the second trip is orange there is a yellaw lion on the write hand side In each corner there are four yellow symbols.
         Our national flag  represents the country.The yellow lion stands for the Sinhalese.The colour is usedfor the muslims and orange for the Tamils.The colour symbols in the four corners represent the sublimes virtues of Buddhism.

Professor senarath paranavithana was born in the villege
of maetaramba in the district of galle
.He was a slightly built man.
Short in stature.
He had a solid foundation in the oriental
languages.He was a true bilingual and he had great love for his country
and an Interst in its history.He was professor of archeology in the university of peradeniya
.He discouered the importance of sigiriya fully.He wrote two massive uolumes on sigiriya graffiti.
He made sriLanka
and sigiriya better know.His sense of dedication made
him a man of exceptional achievement.

A LITTLE BIRD SPEAKS.

       
        When I came to this world my eyes were closed I didn’t see anything.
I had not feathers.I felt cold.I couldn’t fly.I had brothers and sisters.
But we didn’t talk to each other.I lived in a next.I couldn’t go to find food.
But my mother brought fruits and fed me. 
        Gradully I got feathers.Then I felt warm.
Oneday I saw a light my eyes  had opened.I felt very happy.
After that I was very active.My mother brought  food.
I pushed my brothers and sisters and ate. I was bigger than them.
One day I tried to fly.But I couldn’t.
         My mother said to me ,you can’t fly because you are too small to fly.
wait a little till you become big .’’But I didn’t listen.
One day my mother went to find food.I flapped wings and tried to fly.
I went up.But I came down again.I didn’t give up my effort .I tried again.
This time I flew higher than before and I fell down.some thing happened to my leg.
I couldn’t fly.I couldn’t do any thing.My leg was paining.I cried.
           Any one didn’t  hear me.
Oh! father ,Look at that beautiful nestling let’t take it a small boy  shauted.
he come ranning and took me to his house.Now I am a prisoner in an iron cage.
I am sad about my mother.Always I remember my mother .My mother  doesn’t  know  where I am.

The stubborm chicken.

   A hen had ten chickens.Nine chickens were yollow.One chicken was  black. The black   chicken was very stubborn.It went very farto find food mother said,”Don’t go far.The fox will eat you.’’But the chicken didn’t listen.
   One day it went very far.The fox caught it and said,”I am going to eat you.’’The chicken said,”please don’t eat me.I am very small.I will become big and come.Then you can eat me.’’The fox said,”Don’t cheat me.I am very cunning.I am going to eat you.The chicken said,”All right eat me.But before you eat me.I went to dance.The chicken said,”I can’t dance. Without music please sing a song.           
   The fox hooted and hooted.The people come running and killed the fox.The chicken went home happily.
